March 23, 2012 Lauxmont Farms Wedding Photos | Stephanie and Zach

The luck of the Irish was with me this St. Patricks Day.

My wedding season kicked off with a fantastic wedding, at a gorgeous reception venue, with an awesome couple, and amazing weather.

What more could a wedding photographer ask for on St. Patricks Day (besides a pot of gold)?

I was lucky enough to be working with Stephanie and Zach for the 3rd time last Saturday. I had previously photographed their engagement session and also worked with Steph when she was maid of honor in her sister’s wedding (Cori and Andrew).

This one of my favorite photos from the wedding day. Amanda and Matt had no idea I was photographing them. I went up ahead and snapped this shot of Matt carrying Amanda’s shoes while the bridal party walked in front giving them a little alone time.

I love the late afternoon light in these photos.

February 20, 2012 Wedding Photography is about Storytelling

Being a wedding photographer is about telling the full story of the wedding day. That is what I love most about this creative job.

Here is a perfect example of how I like to tell the story on the wedding day. This image was taken at Jen & Jason’s wedding at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill, PA. Jen’s dad was giving a toast and I made sure to position myself so that I could easily photograph the bride and grooms reaction to what he was saying.

This series of photos ended up being a 2 page spread in Jen & Jason’s wedding album design.

It was one of my favorite moments of the wedding day.

I loved photographing Cori and Andrew’s Wedding in Hershey, PA (This was on my blog before but somehow it was deleted).

This was one of the most amazing couples to work with. I am so happy that I get to share their wedding once again.

February 8, 2012 Wedding at Heritage Hills | Beautiful First Dance

Photographing this wedding for Jessica and Travis was so much fun. I loved the light for their first dance. It was natural window light only. For one of the photos, I used the window to backlight them and for the other, I simply put the window at my back and watched the soft light wrap around them. This gorgeous wedding was at Heritage Hills in York, PA.

Welcome to Thomas Beaman Photography. I am keeping this blog post at the top of the page because I want new visitors to learn who I am without having to scroll through pages of archives.

While I am experienced with many different styles of photography, I specialize in wedding day storytelling. I love telling the unique story of a wedding using images with emotion and expression.

Couples spend over a year planning their wedding and I make sure to pay attention to every single detail and photograph them in an artistic way.

I love keeping portrait sessions between the bride & groom, bridal party and families very relaxed. I want the true personalities of my clients to show in these photographs. I want you to look back at these images in 20 years and say “that was so us!”

Please view the slideshow above to see a few of my favorite images. I am also going to share a few thoughts from my previous clients.

I take pride in my ongoing photography education which is why I am a member of WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International). I take 3-4 workshops every year to keep my photography skills polished. I also take 2-3 workshops on photo editing. I attend at least 1 major trade show each year to keep current on the latest products.

I have won a few awards in the past 2 years including Simply The Best 2011 for Wedding Photography in Harrisburg Magazine. I also won The Knot 2011 Best of Weddings and awards for Brides Choice on Weddingwire for 2010, 2011 and 2012.

I have had weddings published in The Knot, Susquehanna Style, Wedding Style and Premier Bride.

Photographing Emily & Ben’s wedding at Lauxmont Farms was awesome! This was the first time I had ever been to this wedding venue and I was blown away by the landscape views.
